CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The victim of a stabbing is now the one in custody.

Police arrested Rick Brannon Sunday night. They say he was stabbed after beating another man in the head with the handle of a hunting knife.

It happened about 6:45 p.m. Sunday at the corner of Walnut and Red Oak Streets.

Police say Brannon has a history of malicious wounding and will more than likely be charged with that again in Sunday's incident.

The other man was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. There's no word yet if he will be charged for stabbing Brannon. It's still unclear what caused the men to fight.
