Arrest Made in Steak Escape Robbery in Charleston

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- An arrest has been made in connection with a robbery that happened last Monday at Steak Escape in Kanawha City.

Charleston Police arrested Justin Carruthers and charged him with first degree robbery.

According to the criminal complaint, Carruthers is a manager at the store.

Police say he waited for the victim to leave out of the back door with the store's bank bag, hit him several times and then told him to give him the money. Carruthers got away with $416, according to the bank.

He was picked up Tuesday after his brother was pulled over and questioned about the event as well as other witnesses.
