When police responded to the scene they found one man dead and a woman injured by a gunshot inside the home, according to police.

The woman was taken to CAMC General. She's expected to be okay.

Charleston Detectives say another man was found shortly after the shooting. Police have questioned the man, along with several people who witnessed the shooting.

"It does not appear he was abducted. At this point, we're trying to determine what his involvement is and we're interviewing other witnesses," Lt. Steve Cooper, Chief of Detectives CPD said. "We found other evidence that we're analyzing at this point. We're interviewing witnesses and we hope to be filing charges very soon on a suspect."

Neighbors tell WSAZ.com they heard gunshots in the area and then saw two men running off.

"There was four or five shots and then there was two black guys that run out of that house, run up there on Whitney Street and got in a white Expedition. The white Expedition went down Whitney Street and one of the guys run out Mary Street," Howard Ashworth, a neighbor said. "Why do I have to live like this? You know, I can't walk out on my porch because someone might pull out a gun, shooting at somebody else and kill me."

No arrests have been made, but police are searching for the suspect.

Kanawha County 911 Dispatchers say police are looking for a white SUV, possibly an Expedition, that was seen leaving the area shortly after the shooting.

Officers have the corner of Mary Street and Piccadilly Street blocked with yellow crime scene tape.

Right now, Charleston Police don't believe drugs is a motive, but they're not ruling it out.

Regardless, neighbors near Mary Street are frustrated to see crime in their neighborhood.

"I'm not being protected so when you're not being protected that's what's going to happen," Ashworth said. "I'll be in the next city council meeting over this. I'm tired of it. I don't want to die. If I want to die, I'll find a way to do it I won't let somebody that I don't know accidentally shoot me. It's not fair."
