ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man accused of stabbing his father has been indicted in the case.
Donald McDaniel, 38, of St. Albans, was arrested in August.
Investigators say he got into a fight with his father, hit him in the face, and then stabbed him in the leg with a carving knife.
He was indicted by the October Kanawha County Grand Jury on attempted murder and malicious wounding charges.
He will be in court next month.

Donald McDaniel, 38, was arraigned Saturday morning.
McDaniel is accused of hitting his father, Russell, in the face and stabbing him twice in the leg with a carving knife.
It happened at their home on Vine Street, Friday.
Police say Russell fell to the ground and cried for help, but Donald dragged him into the kitchen.
Donald defended himself in court, saying "My dad pulled a knife on me. I take care of my mom and dad."
His bond has been set at $25,000.
Deputies tell WSAZ.com, Donald McDaniel got into a fight with his father at a house on West Vine Street near St. Albans about noon, Friday.
Deputies say McDaniel stabbed his father twice in the leg and ran off into the woods.
His father is in the hospital for injuries.
Deputies obtained a warrant for McDaniel for malicious wounding.
He was found walking along a road and when deputies picked him up he was exhibiting signs of having a drug overdose.
McDaniel was taken to the hospital to be checked out.
It happened at a house just before noon along West Vine Street near St. Albans.

The father was taken to the hospital, his son took off and police are patrolling the area looking for him.

Kanawha County 911 Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com the person was stabbed in the leg with a butcher knife.
So far no arrests have been made.
