PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office is looking for a woman in connection with a suspicious fire investigation in Putnam County.

Officials say they are searching for Chrystal Roush Whittington, 35, of Buffalo.

Investigators say they want to talk to her about a fire that broke out at a home on Tuesday on Manila Ridge Road in Robertsburg.

PUTNAM COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Investigators are trying to pinpoint a cause after suspicious flames tore through a home in Putnam County Tuesday morning.

It broke out just before 9 a.m. along Manila Ridge Road in the Robertsburg neighborhood.

Dispatchers say the flames were shooting through the roof and windows of the home when firefighters arrived about 9 a.m.

No one was home at the time. The renter says he was out for a ride on his bicycle.

"Shortly after we got here, we had a witness that had seen him leave this morning," Chief Glenn Whittington said. "And he came back a while ago and left again. So, he's OK."

Investigators have called the fire suspicious and interviewed potential suspects. Troopers are assisting deputies in the investigation.

The West Virginia State Fire Marshal is expected to be on the scene Wednesday.

The fire broke out just before 9 a.m. Tuesday on Manila Ridge Road in Robertsburg.

The State Fire Marshal's Office is headed to the scene to investigate.

Firefighters say no one was home at the time of the fire, but the flames were shooting from the roof and windows of the home when they arrived on scene.
