UPDATE: House Catches Fire in St. Albans

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The flames were quickly put out at a house in St. Albans.

Firefighter say it happened in the 800 block of Hudson Street about 7 p.m. Sunday.

A off-duty firefighter lives next door to the home where flames were spotted shooting out. He immediately called for help on his emergency radio.

No one was home at the time. Emergency workers say the owner
only comes home a few times a week to check on the house.

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Fire crews are on the scene of a large house fire in St. Albans.

Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com flames and smoke were seen coming from the home in the 800 block of Hudson Street about 7 p.m. Sunday.

Several fire departments have been called in to assist. They confirmed large amounts of flames when they arrived, according to Metro 911.

No word on if anyone is inside the home.
