CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The victim of a shooting in Charleston is expected to face charges after police found drugs on him during the investigation.

Charleston Police say Daniel Dickerson, 20, was shot in the leg early Sunday morning near the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Grant Street on the city's west side.

Police say Dickerson would not cooperate with investigators and was later found with crack cocaine in his hat. A witness to the shooting also refused to answer any questions from police.

As of Monday morning, Dickerson was listed in satisfactory condition at CAMC General. Police say once he is released from the hospital they expect to file charges against him.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- More information is expected to be released concerning a shooting that happened this weekend in Charleston.

The shooting happened early Sunday morning near the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Grant Street on Charleston's west side. The victim's name has not been released.

No arrests have been made in the case.

Charleston Police have scheduled a news conference at 9:45 a.m. Monday to update the case.

UPDATE: 5/19/13 @ 8:14 p.m.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Parents who live near the scene of a shooting Saturday tell WSAZ.com they're outraged the incident happened so close to children.

Saturday night, Charleston Police responded to a shots fired call near the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Grant Street.

Neighbors said they heard at least five gunshots.

"We grabbed [my children] to the back of the house basically until we heard the cop cars and that's when we felt like it was okay," said Marie Cunningham who lives near the scene of the shooting.

"We ran upstairs and we just saw in the window and watched everything," said Shawnette Beatty, another parent in the area.

Officials tell WSAZ.com, the victim suffered a shattered femur as a result of his gunshot wound but is expected to survive.

"We can't even sit on our porch, without the thought of someone driving by and shooting you ya know and your children getting hit by a stray bullet," Beatty added. "I wouldn't be able to live with that."

No suspects have been identified but Sunday detectives said crack cocaine was found in the hat of the victim . They are investigating if drugs were a motive.

UPDATE 5/19/13 @ 1:06 p.m. CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Charleston Police are searching for a suspect after late night gunshots rang out Saturday near the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Grant Street on Charleston's West Side.

The victim, 20, has not been identified but police tell WSAZ.com the man is expected to survive his injuries. He was taken to the hospital with a shattered femur.

At this time, officials have not released a description of the suspect .

Police tell WSAZ.com crack cocaine was found inside the hat of the victim. They are investigating if drugs may have been a motive for the shooting.

Early Saturday morning police had blocked off the area surroudning the shooting.

Metro 911 dispatchers tell WSAZ.com a person has been shot in the hip. That person has been rushed to the hospital.

Dispatchers say it happened just after midnight near the intersection of Glenwood Avenue and Grant Street in Charleston on the west side.

It's unclear if any arrests have been made. Detectives are on the scene.

We have a crew headed to the scene.
