UPDATE: Arrest Made in Chelyan Stabbing

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Police have arrested a woman in connection with stabbing in Chelyan .

Deputies say, Sarah Halstead has been charged with malicious wounding.

Deputies say she stabbed Jason Hall at a trailer in Cordell Court Monday morning.

Investigators were originally treating the incident as a home invasion, but they quickly figured out it was an argument between Hall and Halstead.

She has been taken to the South Central Regional Jail, she will be arraigned, Tuesday morning.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- New information about an early morning home invasion that ended with a man being stabbed.

Deputies say Jason Hall woke up when a man broke into his home in Cheylan Monday morning.

The incident happened about 3 a.m. on Cordell Court.

Hall told deputies that the man stabbed him in the back shoulder area. He was taken to the hospital, where he is in serious condition.

The intruder was able to get away.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man was taken to the hospital after he was stabbed during a break-in at his home in Chelyan.

It happened about 2:30 a.m. Monday on Cordell Court Road.

Deputies say a man heard someone breaking into his home. He went to investigate and got into a fight with a male intruder.

The homeowner was stabbed in the back. The intruder was able to get away.

So far no arrests have been made.

The homeowner's name and condition have not been released.
