CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The woman arrested in the stabbing of her boyfriend Tuesday night has been charged with malicious wounding, according to a criminal complaint from Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
Nynita Carter, 26, of the 900 block of Richard Street in Charleston, was arraigned on the charge late Tuesday night.
According to the complaint, Carter stabbed her boyfriend Jeffrey Fields in the back with a large knife. It happened after the two "got into an argument over her drinking," the complaint states.
The stabbing happened just after 8 p.m. Tuesday at a home in the 900 block of Richard Street.
There is no words on Fields' condition.

A man was stabbed twice in the back in the 900 block of Richard Street just after 8 p.m. Tuesday.
Police say his girlfriend was arrested and charged in connection with the stabbing.
Neighbors say the girlfriend came running out of the house shouting that the victim was beating her.
The victim then stumbled out of the house and neighbors called 911.
"He said it was hard to breath, he said he had been stabbed I wanted to make sure he didn't have a punctured lung you know," neighbor Paul Fortson said. "I told him to lift his shirt so I could see how bad it was and I got something to apply a little pressure to it until the ambulance got here."
No word on the man's condition. No names have been released.

Metro 911 dispatchers say a person was stabbed on Richard Street about 8 p.m. Tuesday.
That person was taken to the hospital. There's no word on the victim's condition.
A woman was arrested at the scene. Police have not released any information about her arrest or if she is considered a suspect.
