CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man visiting a friend on Charleston's West Side was shot in the face.
Police say Kelly Sutton, who is from London in Kanawha County was at the 7-11 in the 800 block of Washington Street West, around 2:00 a.m. Friday.
That is when a man came up to him and tried to rob him.
Sutton was shot in the face during the incident.
He was taken to the hospital where he is in stable condition.
No arrests have been made in the case. If you have any information about the shooting, you are asked to call the Charleston Police Department.
It happened about 2 a.m. Friday.
Kanawha County 911 dispatchers say a man was reportedly shot in the face somewhere nearby the store.
He then walked into the 7-11 looking for help with a towel around his head.
Witnesses reported hearing two shots fired.
There is no word on the victim's condition.
Police are still searching for the shooter.
