UPDATE: Road Closed After Water Main Break

UPDATE @ 8:25 a.m.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A portion of Washington Street is closed Friday due to a water main break.

According to Kanawha County Metro 911, the break happened just after 5 a.m. in the 1200 block of Washington St east.

Right now, crews have closed the 1200 block of Washington St east at Brooks Street until it is repaired. That's the street beside CAMC General.

A crew with West Virginia American Water is on scene working to fix the problem.

A spokesperson with West Virginia American Water tells WSAZ.com the break did not effect water service and no boil water advisory has been issued.

The problem should be fixed in a few hours.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- West Virginia American Water crews are on the scene of a water main break on Washington Street East in Charleston.

The 1200 block of Washington Street East is closed at Brooks Street while crews work on the water main.
