Car Found in the Elk River in Kanawha County

BIG CHIMNEY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Emergency crews are along the Elk River in Kanawha County after a car was found in the water.

The car has found about 1:00 p.m. Wednesday near a boat dock, just off Pennsylvania Avenue in Big Chimney.

Dispatchers say they believe the car was stolen and dumped in the river.

They don't believe anyone is inside the car, but dive teams are being called in to check.

Police say they believe the car has been in the water for awhile.
