SISSONVILLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a fight call in Sissonville early Wednesday morning and found a man sitting in a chair with two stab wounds.

The stabbing happened at 1:50 a.m. at #4 Meg Drive. That's at the Meg Village Apartments.

According to the release, James Burdette, 25, said he and his brother got into a fight with two unknown males when one of them stabbed him in the chest area. The men and a female left the scene in a silver Ford Taurus.

Just a short time later, deputies spotted the vehicle on Martins Branch Road and pulled over the car.

The two men jumped out of the car and took off running into the woods. Deputies searched the area, but couldn't find the two men.

The vehicle was impounded and secured for evidence.

The case is still under investigation and no other details are being released at this time.

Burdette is in ICU at CAMC General. Currently, he is listed in satisfactory condition.

There was a shooting just more than a hour later on Lakewood Drive in Sissonville, but deputies don't believe the two crimes are connected.
