UPDATE: Woman Killed After Being Hit By Vehicle Identified

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The woman who was hit and killed by a vehicle in Kanawha County Wednesday morning has been identified.

Angela Ramsey, 32, of Nicholas County, W.Va., was the victim.

The accident happened about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Route 60 and Hughes Creek Road.

According to a spokesperson with the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office, the woman was walking in the roadway when she was hit.

An accident reconstruction team spent the night at the scene of the accident trying to determine what caused it.

The driver who hit the woman remained at the scene during the investigation, according to the deputy. No charges have been filed in the case.

It happened about 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Route 60 and Hughes Creek Road.

Kanawha County 911 Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com a woman died after being hit by a vehicle.

Dispatchers say the woman's body has been taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office.

According to a spokesperson with the Kanawha County Sheriff's office, the woman was walking in the roadway when she was hit.

An accident reconstruction team spent the night at the scene of the accident trying to determine what caused it.

The driver who hit the woman remained at the scene during the investigation, according to the deputy. No charged have been filed in the case.

The road was shut down for several hours before it reopened.

Metro 911 dispatchers say a woman died after being hit by a vehicle near the intersection of Route 60 and Hughes Creek Road.
