One SB Lane Reopens Along I-77 After Semi Crash

UPDATE @ 1:30 p.m.
KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- One southbound lane along Interstate 77 in Kanawha County is back open to traffic after an tractor trailer accident.

The accident happened near the Chelyan exit about 11:30 a.m.

The driver of the truck was traveling south when he lost control and then over corrected.

Witnesses tell WSAZ.com the truck landed on its side and then bounced back on its tires.

The truck put two holes in the bridge where the accident happened.

The Division of Highways have crews at the scene making the emergency repairs.

One southbound lane is still closed.

The driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with cuts to his shoulder.

There was also a dog in the truck, he was rescued by a humane officer. The dog was scared, but alright.

Traffic was backed up for almost two miles past Chelyan.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The southbound lanes of Interstate 77 in Kanawha County are closed after a tractor trailer accident.

The accident was reported at 11:30 am. at the 83 mile marker. That's just past the Chelyan exit.

Kanawha County 911 Dispatchers tell WSAZ.com the tractor trailer rolled over during the accident.

No other vehicles were involved. No word on injuries.

Some debris is in the northbound lanes so drivers should use caution.
