CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Emergency crews are on the scene of an accident where a driver has hit an utility pole.
The accident happened just before 7:00 a.m. in the 15-hundred block of Bigley Avenue at the intersection of Garrison Avenue.
Firefighters tell WSAZ.com the driver was driving south on Bigley Avenue when she said she lost control of her car and hit a utility pole. The impact of the accident caused the pole to snap in two pieces.
Bigley Avenue is closed to traffic. The power is currently out for two blocks south of the accident.
The woman was not hurt.
Dispatchers say the street will be closed for most of the day as crews repair the utility pole.
