CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Charleston Street Department says the 100-block of Summers Street, between Virginia Street and Quarrier Street, has now reopened to traffic.
Drivers are now being asked to use caution in the area because steel plates are now covering a portion of the roadway.
According to Metro 911, the northbound lanes of Summers Street between Virginia Street and Quarrier Street are closed before noon due to the hole in the road.
The front end of a car remained in the sinkhole Friday afternoon.
No word on when the lanes will be reopened or what caused the sinkhole.
