CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Kids and families were able to beat the heat with a sweet treat on Sunday afternoon as part of FestivALL 2014.
This year, the ice cream social was held at Stonewall Jackson Middle School on the West side. It featured multiple flavors of cold ice cream, plus some other fun activities for kids, including live music.
Kids could get their faces painted, make beaded jewelry, try their hand at some archery and enjoy a horse and carriage ride; just to name a few.
The lawn was packed all day and most parents say it was worth the summer heat to see their kids having a great time.
