All Clear Given After Suspicious Backpack Found in Charleston

UPDATE 3/14/14 @ 1:40 p.m.
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The bomb squad has given the all clear after a suspicious backpack was found in downtown Charleston.

The backpack was found just after noon on the sidewalk across the street from St. Francis Hospital's Medical Pavilion on Court Street.

Deputies say the backpack was searched and nothing dangerous was found.

All streets in the area have reopened.

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The bomb squad is investigating a suspicious backpack in downtown Charleston.

The package was found just before 1 p.m. Thursday across the street from St. Francis Hospital's medical pavilion.

Court Street is blocked in the area.
