KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Students at an elementary school in Kanawha County were late getting home from school Wednesday after a bomb threat delayed their release.

The bomb threat happened about 3:30 p.m. at Elk Center Elementary School.

The bomb squad was called in, but investigators say nothing dangerous was found.

WSAZ received several calls into the newsroom from concerned parents, wondering why they weren't told about the bomb threat.

The school's principal tells she didn't want to alarm anyone.
