CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Four people were arrested Wednesday night in another bust at the Transit Mall in Charleston.
It marked the fourth raid in a matter of weeks.
Charleston Police say they are cracking down on that area. In Wednesday night's bust, the suspects face charges ranging from trespassing to simple possession.
Police also found some people with active arrest warrants.
Officers said it's a good sign that only four people were arrested, saying it shows they're getting their point across.
"This is our goal, and its pretty much empty tonight," Charleston Police Lt. Shawn Williams said. "We have made four arrests so far for the same types of offenses. Some of the people you see in handcuffs are the same people we have arrested the last few times we have done this, so some are getting the messages; some are not."
In just the past month and a half alone, nearly 40 people have been arrested there. One of those arrests was Khatin Ghoul, owner of the Middle East Mart.
Police say they found evidence that Ghoul was reselling thousands of dollars worth of stolen merchandise.
