CAMC Holds Emergency Drill, Streets Blocked

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Dozens of police and other emergency responders are at CAMC General Thursday to put themselves to the test.

CAMC sponsored a regional disaster drill where the hospital joined forces with the Charleston Police Department and Kanawha County Sheriff's Department to train for an emergency.

The drill will affect all CAMC hospitals, but the main part of the drill will be conducted at CAMC General in the maintenance area. No patients are in that area of the hospital.

The scenario for the drill will include a shooter entering the hospital and at least one person will be hit.

During the drill, Brooks Street between Washington and Lewis streets will be blocked.

We have a crew at the drill.
