Cafe Robbed; Suspect Makes Off With Cash

CLENDENIN, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Police are searching for a man they say robbed a café late Saturday night.

It happened just before 11 p.m. at the Riverside Cafe on Elk River Road in the Clendenin area of Kanawha County.

Troopers say the robber was wearing a mask, walked inside and demanded cash. He was able to get away with $2,000 in the cash register.

Police say only one employee was working at the time and was not hurt. Troopers say the suspect dropped articles of clothing as he ran away.

K-9 units are searching near the cafe to recover any additional clues. Police say they do have a person of interest but are not yet identifying that person just yet.
