CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Charleston's city council wants to make sure everyone who enters the city gets a friendly welcome.

The overall plan is to mark all entrances with gateway signs - welcoming people to Charleston.

Monday night, council moved forward with that plan by choosing the first location for one of the signs.

It's a piece of property owned by the Division of Highways, and is located along Interstate 64.
