CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Charleston City Council on Monday approved a new bill that would restrict neighbors from drilling a well for well water.

Council members said the bill oversees a section of Kanawha City and Charleston.

They said there used be a glass company near 57th Street and MacCorkle Avenue. Somehow brown silt ended up getting into the ground, and council members say they want to prevent neighbors from contaminating their own water.
