Charleston Police Investigate Two Shots Fired Incidents

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Charleston Police are investigating two incidents where gun shots were fired on the city's west side.

The first shots fired call came in about 2:45 a.m. Friday at the 7-Eleven in Charleston on West Washington Street.

Charleston Police say Richard, "Ricky" King Jr., of Charleston, fired one round from a vehicle in to the convience store's parking lot. King wasn't intending to hit anyone.

Police were able to follow the car and later found the handgun used in the crime. Police say King was charged with wanton endangerment involving a firearm.

Then, just hours later at 5 a.m. police were called to Little Page Winston Courts Apartments on Rebecca Street in Charleston where witnesses say a male fired one shot at a female.

Police didn't locate anyone, but the bullet hit a wood block that holds an apartment's air condition unit. No one was hurt.

Investigators are currently looking at surveillance video at the apartment complex.

No arrest has been made in this case.

The two incidents don't appear to be related.
