CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) – Despite the federal holiday on Wednesday, July 4, Charleston residents will have trash pickup that day, Mayor Danny Jones announced Monday night.

Jones said service is essential because of Friday’s severe storm that damaged property, downed power lines and has resulted in spoiled food at many people’s homes.

Plans are expected to be finalized by Tuesday.
