Car vs. Coal Truck Crash Sends One to Hospital; Route 60 Re-Opens

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Metro 911 says all lanes of Route 60 along the Cedar Grove/Glasgow line are open this morning after a crash shutdown the westbound lane late Monday night.

A car collided with a coal truck about 9:30 Monday night. The driver of the car was taken to the hospital. There is no word on that person's condition or what caused the crash.

The coal truck driver was not hurt.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The driver of a car that collided with a coal truck Monday night at the Cedar Grove/Glasgow line was taken to the hospital, crews at the scene say.

As of 11 p.m. Monday, the westbound lanes remained closed in the area, which is near the intersection of King Street. A detour was set up on Hall Avenue.

The crash happened about 9:30 p.m. Monday. There was no word on what caused it.

There also was no word on the extent of the car driver's injuries.

The coal truck driver was not hurt.

KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A driver is reported trapped in a car that collided with a coal truck on U.S. 60 late Monday night at the Cedar Grove/Glasgow line, Metro 911 dispatchers say.

The crash was reported just after 9:30 p.m. Monday near the intersection of U.S. 60 (East Dupont Avenue) and King Street.

Crews were headed to the scene.
