Detroit Man Pleads Guilty to Federal Drug Charges in Charleston

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A Detroit man pleaded guilty Wednesday to federal drug charges in Charleston, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin’s office.

Delbert Lapsley, 48, of Detroit, pleaded guilty to distribution of oxymorphone, also known as Opana.

Lapsley admitted that on Aug. 2, 2011, he illegally sold Opana at or near Charleston. Lapsley faces up to 20 years in prison and a $1 million fine when he is sentenced June 12 by U.S. District Judge John T. Copenhaver Jr.
