KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- It will cost the organizers of the Dirty Girl Mud Run a pretty penny to hold the event in July at Coonskin Park.
Last year the popular run was held at the part in April. The price tag to use the park was $10,000.
If the event is held in July, like the organizers would like, it will cost $50,000.
Thursday Kanawha County Commissioners said there are a couple of reasons for the high cost.
First, it causes them to shut down nearly the entire park at a very busy time.
The other issue is the damage left behind.
The "Dirty Girl Mud Run" lives up to it's name and commissioners say that would be damage that would need fixed immediately. Other parts would be something park-goers would have to live with the rest of the season.
