DUNBAR, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Keeping people safer on the roads and paying jail fees efficiently were among issues addressed Monday night by Dunbar City Council.
Council members say after receiving numerous complaints about not being able to see disabled folks on motorized wheel chairs, they're going to be handing out reflective flags. They say it's all in an effort to prevent accidents.
Meanwhile, the jail fee is going up in Dunbar, but the money will not be coming out of residents’ pockets or the city's budget.
Council members approved an ordinance to put more unpaid inmate fees back on the inmate instead of the city.
Until now, Council says the Regional Jail Authority billed the city after inmates failed to pay up.
