DUNBAR, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A police and fire excess levy will be on the March ballot in the city of November, but at no cost to taxpayers.
Dunbar City Council made the decision Tuesday night, which will save the city about $12,000.
It is the same police and fire levy that comes up every five years. Again, city residents’ taxes will not go up.
In other news from Dunbar City Council, the city is starting to implement a series of neighborhood watch groups.
Last week, several Dunbar Police officers traveled to Clarksburg for watch group training. Each watch group will have a block captain and will be able to contact Dunbar officers directly.
City Council members want the watch group to begin as soon as possible.
