DUNBAR, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- City leaders in Dunbar are pushing forward an ordinance that will allow them to inspect more rental properties.

City Council on Monday approved the first reading of an ordinance that will require landlords to register all of their properties. It also means all rental properties will be inspected.

A second reading of the ordinance and a public hearing has to be held before it is final.

Also on Monday, City Council approved Dunbar's lease of Shawnee Park. The city will operate and maintain everything but the golf course.
