CABELL COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Working to crack a cold case wide open. Twenty-six years after the murder of a woman from Nitro -- no suspects and no arrests.

March 20 marks the 26 year anniversary of the murder of Linda Sharp. Police say two truck drivers found Linda's body along Interstate 64 near the Saint Albans exit.

"The day they killed her they might as well as killed me too," said Pat Sharp, Linda's sister. "Actually, they might have been better off to kill me too."

Linda was just 28 when she was shot twice in the head and left for dead in Saint Albans.

"You know, you come home and you sit down to have dinner and there's chairs there but there's nobody in them," said Sharp.

But in those 26 years, an arrest has never been made and no suspects have ever been named.

"I made a promise to her then that I would not stop until we found who did this to her."

Pat said that's one of the hardest things to deal with regarding her sister's death. "The whys will kill you. If you dwell on the whys. I already know the whys. My why is to law enforcement is why has this not been solved yet."

But Pat made it her mission to find justice for her little sister Linda, and put whoever did this behind bars.

"I want it to where it comes to an end. It's got to end. And I want it to happen before I die."

If you have any information that could crack this cold case, you are asked to call state police or the sheriff's department in Putnam County.
