KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Many furloughed federal employees from throughout the Kanawha Valley joined in protest Tuesday night along MacCorkle Avenue regarding the government shutdown.

Thousands of federal workers in the Kanawha Valley have been furloughed because of it.

Members of the American Federation of Government Employees protested in front of U.S. Rep. Shelley Moore Capito's office in Kanawha City.

Organizers of the protest say they are asking for Congress to pass a resolution that will allow government to resume normal functioning again.
