Fire Leaves Family Homeless in St. Albans Area

ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Fire left a family without a home and claimed the life of their pet dog on Tuesday night in the St. Albans area, firefighters say.

The fire started just after 8 p.m. Tuesday along Simplicity Drive.

Firefighters say the fire started in the living room.

A West Side firefighter had to be taken to Thomas Memorial Hospital for heat exhaustion. He is expected to be OK.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this point.
