NEW INFO: Family Escapes Burning Home

JEFFERSON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A family escaped their home after it caught fire.

The fire broke out in the 600 block of Ronald Drive in Jefferson about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Firefighters say two or three people were inside the home, but they were able to get out safely.

The owner of the home called firefighters on Monday because he smelled smoke, first responders couldn't find anything.

Firefighters tell WSAZ.com, they aren't sure what started this fire.

JEFFERSON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Firefighters are on the scene of a fire in Jefferson.

The house is at 602 Ronald Drive.

Emergency dispatchers received the call at 5:27 a.m. Tuesday.

No word yet on whether anyone was home when the fire broke out.

A WSAZ.com crew is at the fire.
