Flames Damage Firefighter's Home in Sissonville

SISSONVILLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A firefighter had to respond to his own home in northern Kanawha County.

The fire broke out on Northfield Road in Sissonville about 12:45 p.m. Wednesday.

The homeowner is a member of the Sissonville Volunteer Fire Department.

He was inside when the flames broke out.

He called for help, but by the time crews arrived flames were shooting through the roof.

The homeowner even helped crews put out the fire.

The home was heavily damaged, but no one was hurt.

There is no word on what started it.

SISSONVILLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Firefighters are on the scene of a house fire in Sissonville.

It broke out about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday on Northfield Drive.

Dispatchers say flames are shooting through the roof of the home.

No injuries have been reported.
