BIG CHIMNEY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A community will come together this weekend to show support for a teenager who was seriously hurt in a car crash.

The crash happened on I-79 near Big Chimney on November 13.

Hunter Canterberry, 13, is still in the hospital in serious but stable condition after the crash.

The Kanawha County Sheriff's Office says James Hoover, lost control of his car on the bridge crossing the Little Sandy Creek.

After hitting a concrete wall, his car went on top of that wall where it traveled a short distance before falling over the barrier. There were reports of black ice in the area that morning.

Hoover died at the scene. Canterberry was a passenger in the car.

Canterberry is an 8th grade student at Elkview Middle School.

A fundraiser for Canterberry is scheduled for Saturday at Elkview Middle School from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
