KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A woman is behind bars for her involvement in a gang related crime.

Wednesday a Kanawha County Judge sentenced Brittany Lanham to ten years in jail after she lured a man she met at a gas station to a South Charleston park, where he was attacked.

Prosecutors say it was a ruthless crime, done by members of the North Charleston Boys Gang, all for some quick cash.

"Other teen gang members beat him severely, to near death. They crushed his skull in with a rock," Senior Assistant Prosecutor Fred Giggenbach said.

Supposed gang members and suspects, Alexander Lanham and Kalom White, are set to be in court next week.

"You've got an extremely violent crime against a completely innocent victim. And crimes like this have to stop," Giggenbach said.

Brittany’s father, Robert Lanham, was upset with her sentence. He told, “Brittany was young and she made a mistake.

However, Brittany wasn't the only member of her family in court Wednesday. Robert Burdette and Larry Lanham, also believed to be members of the North Charleston Boys, were sentenced for other crimes.

"It’s our job to make sure that innocent victims of any victims of crime have their day in court. And the people who commit these crimes go to prison," Giggenbach said.

As for the victim, prosecutors say he's left the state with no plans to come back.
