MADISON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Proof Thursday that patience is a virtue as a project twelve years in the making is finally starting to become a reality in Boone County.
State and local leaders put a shovel in the ground Thursday to signify the start of the building process of the new Boone Memorial Hospital.
It will be adjacent to the old facility which was originally built in 1964.
"It's a great economic boost for the community. We will be adding to the payroll to support the facility and we're hoping the community will see this as a great asset to our area," said Mark Linville, Boone Memorial Hospital COO.
The project is expected to take two years to complete
