CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- Hundreds of high school students put their trivia knowledge to the test, Saturday.
It was part of the West Virginia Quiz Bowl held at the University of Charleston.
The competition tests players' knowledge of science, history, literature and music.
There were 22 teams competing; all hoping to walk away with the winning trophy.
U.C. faculty members say these kids know their stuff, and the questions were not easy.
"As faculty members, we have masters degrees, PHD's," Michelle Herdman, the quiz bowl coordinator said. "Sometimes they make us feel stupid, because they know the literature, the science and the teams -- they're just so smart."
Next is the state championship and then a national quiz bowl.
Organizers say that will be this spring near Chicago.
