La-Z-Boy to Close South Charleston Location

SOUTH CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A popular furniture store is closing its doors in the Kanawha Valley.

According to a news release, La-Z-Boy Furniture Gallery is closing its store along MacCorkle Avenue in South Charleston. However, the store in Barboursville will remain open.

The owners, David Little and Kim Marion, weren't able to renew the building's lease, according to the release.

"I want to assure all of our customers that this will not affect any current orders," David Little said. "We are remaining open in our Barboursville location and plan on serving our local customers for years to come."

A liquidation sale is set for this weekend at both locations. The owners say they will match the store closing prices at its Barboursville location.

Both stores will be closed from February 22 to 24 to mark down the merchandise. The sell off will begin on Saturday, February 25 at 10 a.m.

Bob Anderson, executive director of the South Charleston Convention & Visitors Bureau, tells WSAZ.com the city doesn't have a new tenant for the building.
