SISSONVILLE, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man was taken to the hospital after he was hit by a truck in Kanawha County.
It happened about 6:30 a.m. Thursday in the 7700 block of Sissonville Drive.
Deputies say the man was walking across the road when he was hit.
The man was alert when he was taken to the hospital, but he did suffer serious injuries.
Deputies say the driver of the truck was having a heart attack when they arrived on the scene.
The driver was also taken to the hospital.
Reconstruction teams are trying to figure out if the driver's medical emergency played a role in the accident.
The incident happened about 6:30 a.m. Thursday in the 7700-block of Sissonville Drive.
The man told emergency crews he had parked his car and was walking across Sissonville Drive when he was hit by the pickup.
The man's name and condition are not being released.
The driver of the truck said he tried to swerve and miss the man, but couldn't.
