KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A murder case is closed after the suspect has pleaded guilty to pulling the trigger.

Tremale Straughter, 30, of Randy, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder Monday in Kanawha County.

In February, he shot and killed Donovan Taylor, 19, also known as Don Don, in the 5400-block of Midland Drive in Rand.

Straughter shot him numerous times with an AK 47.

In return for his plea, prosecutors agreed to drop three charges of wanton endangerment against Straughter.

He faces life in prison when he is sentenced in January.

After the shooting occurred, Riverside High School, three middle schools and nine elementary schools were closed.
