CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in Charleston.
Troy White is who investigators say was in surveillance video smashing a cash register and grabbing money at Max's Place.
Police say the clerk was threatened at knifepoint. The robbery happened about 7:30 p.m. Monday in the 6800 block of MacCorkle Avenue in Kanawha City.
White is charged with armed robbery. He is being arraigned before a magistrate late Tuesday night.

According to the owner of the business, Max Namsupak, the robber said, "You better be nice. I'm ready to rob you," before he pulled out a knife.
After the man struggled to open the register, surveillance shows him smash the register to get it to open.
Namsupak said the clerk was very shaken up after the incident. She can be seen in the video running out of the store when the robber throws the register.
There are several Max's Place locations in the area. This incident happened about 7:30 p.m. Monday at 6802 MacCorkle Ave.
Police are still looking into the robbery. Anyone with information is asked to call Charleston Police.

The bartender said she ran away because the man had a knife.
Police say the man smashed the register, stole some money and escaped.
He was still on the loose as of late Monday night.
