CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - Police in Charleston say two juveniles have been charged in a hammer attack outside the Charleston Town Center mall.
The Associated Press reports the attack occurred on the Court Street side of the mall Thursday night.
Police say Ryan Lynch of Charleston underwent surgery for a head injury at Charleston Area Medical Center's General Hospital.
Police say Lynch knew the suspects, who were charged in a juvenile petition with malicious wounding. Their names were not released.
A search is on for three other people who were involved in the attack.
It happened Thursday night outside of the Chili's at the Charleston Town Center Mall.
Police tell WSAZ.com a hammer was used during the attack.
The victim, Ryan Lynch, was taken to the hospital where he underwent surgery for a head injury.
A juvenile petition for malicious wounding has been filed against the teens.
Police say Lynch knew his attackers, and this was not a random incident.
Lynch is currently under evaluation at CAMC General.
