ST. ALBANS, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man and a woman were arrested Tuesday evening on meth-related charges after a traffic stop at 5th Avenue and Park Street, according to information from the St. Albans Police Department.

Earl W. Elliot, 40, of Charleston, faces charges of operating a clandestine drug lab and possessing Sudafed in an altered state. Elliot, who was considered a fugitive from justice, also was wanted in Highland County, Ohio, for failing to answer an indictment for drug lab charges near a juvenile.

Kristina Rose James, 28, of Charleston faces charges of operating a clandestine drug lab. She was driving the car, police said.

Officers said they found what appeared to be Sudafed in an altered state and what appeared to be a meth lab in the back seat of the car.

The pair was pulled over about 5 p.m. after James allegedly ran a stop sign. Both were expected to be arraigned Tuesday night in Kanawha County Magistrate Court.
