CHARLESTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- A man was arrested Monday in connection with a shootout that happened earlier in the day on the city's West Side, police say.
Richard Gilmore was arrested Monday afternoon. He has been charged with wanton endangerment and being a felon in possession of a gun.
Police say he went to the 500 block of Roane Street to watch his brother fight another man.
During the fight, Gilmore pulled out a gun and fired several shots into a large crowd; no one was hit by the bullets.
Gilmore told us exclusively that not only is he sorry, but he hopes his arrest can serve as a lesson to others. He also said he just wasn't thinking when he pulled the trigger.
