KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The body of a man found in Kanawha County Friday morning has been sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office.
Kanawha County Sheriff's Deputies say Lewis Taylor, Jr., 30, of Valley Grove, was found in the 3400 block of Simmons Creek Road near Belle.
Deputies say there were no visual signs of trauma or foul play.
Investigators at the scene tell WSAZ.com it appeared the man died of an overdose. However, the cause of death is still under investigation.
Kanawha County Sheriff's deputies say a man came to the area to cut some timber and found Taylor's body.
Neighbors in the area are hoping for an end to what they call random crime in their community. Joe Whorely was a victim when a suspicious fire destroyed his home in May.
"You worry for the safety of the children and the elderly and everyone else, and then this is a first time, a body being found," Whorely said.
